Embarking on my first job in the corporate world, I discovered a stark contrast between my professional role and my lifelong love for dance. Despite the demands of my IT job, which require logic and focus, dance allows me to express myself, connect with music, and stay physically and mentally refreshed.

To borrow from Harper Lee, I never loved dancing before. After all, one does not love breathing. Although it has always been a part of me, like Scout, I realized my love for the art quite late. And then, I entered the corporate world for my first ever job. Now, starting out for the first time is hard; everything is new and foreign, and there is so much data available everywhere but not enough time. It could get a little overwhelming. But like the adage says, “There are no mountains too high. No river too wide to cross.”

Although the 3-month product training was tough, we came out of the other end better for it. With the raging pandemic and my own busy schedule, I couldn&#8217;t find time for myself at first. If I am being really honest, my job in the IT sector couldn’t be more different from my interest in dancing. That’s the thing, really. They are polar opposites, but complement each other almost perfectly. While my job requires me to work around 8 hours a day and demands very little physical activity, my dance demands that I stay in good form. The former requires me to keep a level head and think logically, and the latter, to feel and create connections with the music. Where one urges me to step up my game and keep up with the pace, the other lets me slow down and move at my own pace.

Not only do they make a wholesome set together, the physical activity of the routine also keeps my mind refreshed and my body energized. Studies have shown that dancing improves not only one’s physical and mental well-being but also fosters interpersonal relationships and creative thinking, and I agree (for the most part 😉). I feel more relaxed and in sync with my thoughts since I picked up the beat again. If You’re Happy and You Know it, Dance Your Heart Out!

As a seasoned Brand Strategist at Mitsogo, I explore my passion for crafting compelling narratives and unleashing the full potential of brands. Armed with a strategic mindset and creative flair, I navigate the ever-evolving marketing landscape to develop holistic brand experiences. Caffeine. That’s exactly how I start my day. From Monday to Sunday, every day starts with a cup of coffee. One when I wake up and one when I start working. I do this because the life of a Brand Strategist is a chaotic one. But in a fun way. As a Brand Strategist at Mitsogo, we are responsible for boosting our brand presence and getting the right people to notice us. Since Mitsogo is a growing brand, it&#8217;s always fun to come up with a new &#8220;meta&#8221; for the brand. The day is also dotted here and there with small convos about anime or video games &#8211; to get the creative juices flowing.

However, I cannot explain what specifically I do each day. Mainly because I signed an NDA and partly cos each day is very different for us. Our team performs different tasks designed to engage with our potential customers and get them to know more about the brand. We will also have to design creative approaches as boring corporate posters rarely work. What I can say is that the most satisfying and difficult aspects of the profession go hand in hand. Brand strategy is a combination of science and creative thought. You can&#8217;t just concentrate on the numbers because it prevents you from being creative. Similar to this, you cannot prioritize solely big-picture ideas. Thankfully, the delicate balancing task of seeking reason in uncertainty and creativity in rigid frameworks is achieved. That keeps me vigilant.

The fact that Mitsogo is relatively young gives me a lot of room to try out a lot of new things. I’ve always been a writer at heart, and I believe content is the crux of any marketing effort. My passion as a writer is how I got into marketing and Mitsogo is the shining star that guided me in this realm. This company has given me the platform to explore the things I’ve always wanted to and the freedom to set my own path; for which, I&#8217;ll always be grateful.

Strategic Serenade: Harmonizing Brands and Inspiring Audiences

Cooking, for me, is not just an art form but an expression of oneself that leaves an everlasting impact. Even now, I continue to explore culinary delights during my free time. For me, this journey of flavors and memories is one that ignites my soul.

My love for cooking dates back to my childhood days. I grew up admiring the magic weaved by my mother and grandmother in the kitchen. The kid in me would earnestly crave a chance to do the smallest of tasks with them. Be it washing or peeling vegetables or tasting food midway, I would never miss out on the chance. Thankfully, I could carry the fervour forward to this date.   
Cooking, like any other art form, is an expression of oneself. Just as art outlives time, the flavour of good food and its infinitely attractive aroma lingers in. Its artistic flair lights up lives and transcends. Perhaps it is the glow of this transcendence that gleams in my eyes and lights up my days.

I vividly remember how my grandmother would make these mouth-watering fish curries for me. She would use Kodambuli (Malabar tamarind) as the souring agent. Believe me, as I write this, my taste buds yearn for the amalgam of its smoky-sweet sourness. Also, the superbly sublime caramel custard my mother prepares for me is delicacy personified. Though the connection between taste and memory is equivocal, I would love to clear off the ambiguities and connect my favourite dishes with my fondest memories. Every time I bite into a brownie, I travel back to my childhood and immerse myself in the moment I first had it. Even now, I can write volumes about it.   
Cooking has never ceased to amaze me. It gushes a fountain of happy memories, and the most rewarding part is how good food can make people smile. The time I spend in the kitchen is therapeutic, and on the toughest of days, I feel like brewing an elixir of life. It calms me down and revitalizes my inner spirit. Not that I underbake or simmer when I should boil, but I always correct myself and learn. It&#8217;s the big lessons made from small mistakes like these that make all the difference. Ultimately, what else will life come down to?

And today, while working as a Content Strategist at Mitsogo, I still get to try out Vietnamese Banh Mi’s, Alfredo Pastas and Bacon sandwiches during my free time. Thanks to my company&#8217;s flexible work culture, my work-life balance seldom gets wrecked. Moreover, cooking has improved my organizational skills and finely chiselled my time management skills. The craftsmanship, finesse and ability to mix things in the right proportion have come in handy on multiple occasions. I&#8217;ve learned patience, practice and perseverance from the kitchen, and it&#8217;s no chalk and cheese from coming up with many drafts to deliver inspiring content.   
Winding down a hectic day at work with Spaghetti and meatballs is indeed a satisfying release. What&#8217;s more gratifying is the thrill of sharing it with my friends. At the end of the day, my cooking stints help us eat mindfully for our bodies. The best part is that we also become better off nutritionally and economically. After all, we see to it that the weekends in Chennai are downright toastier and return refreshed to work. As Nora Ephron puts it, &#8220;Writing is what I do. It&#8217;s like breathing to me at a certain point, but if I couldn&#8217;t write, I do like cooking.&#8221;

The Tale of Blogs, Bacon, Sandwiches and Bon Appetit

I am a passionate data analyst at Mitsogo, driven by the thrill of unraveling stories hidden within numbers. With a keen eye for patterns and a love for visualizing insights, I empower decision-making through data-driven strategies. Transforming complex information into actionable solutions, I shape a brighter future for Mitsogo and its customers.

My day typically doesn&#8217;t begin until I&#8217;ve drank my first cup of coffee. I know it’s a cliché and it&#8217;s not even about the coffee, it’s more about my tradition of entering &#8220;the zone&#8221;. After the much-needed caffeine ritual, I get down to business. Every morning starts with a gathering of my fellow analysts where we discuss the responsibilities for the day and come up with potential solutions. When everything is clear and I have an idea of the tasks to finish for the day, I start working on the data. Analyzing data consists of three main tasks: gathering the data, cleaning the data, and finally processing the data. The data processing part of the day is where I get to use my programming skills and is probably my favorite part of the day. 
You might think that after such an intense day, I would kick back and relax. However, my idea of de-stressing and relaxing comes in the form of sets and reps at the gym. Getting a workout in and pushing my body to the limits is the perfect way to end a day. And that pretty much sums up my day – coffee, work, and gym. It’s a simple life, but a happy one.

The funniest thing is that I never planned to be a data analyst. After my graduation in aeronautical engineering, I went to coaching for many competitive exams. That is when COVID-19 hit the world. The pandemic put a strain on my family, and the only way out was to find a job. So, I started researching and finding something I could learn online and build a career. That&#8217;s when I learned about data analysis. I promptly enrolled in a data analysis course and got a job as a data analyst.  
The prospect of turning mountains of ones and zeroes which no one can even perceive yet understand into readable and usable information has got a certain addictive feeling. So, even though I graduated as an aeronautical engineer, data analytics is where I am supposed to be. So, I guess if there’s any lesson to take away from my story, it’s that fate has a funny way of putting you right where you belong. 
Mitsogo is my third company and I dare say, it’s the best one yet. I mean, every company I&#8217;ve been to has its strengths and weaknesses. It’s not always sunshine and rainbows. But what made Mitsogo the best for me is definitely the support I got here. I know every company likes to say that they are like a family but here I really do feel like it. Sometimes it’s almost impossible to get my colleagues from prying into my life. That might not sound appealing to some, but personally, I love it. Beyond the friends and family I&#8217;ve made here, the management makes sure that I&#8217;ve all the tools to work comfortably. The facilities offered here are truly the best. The assets are top notch and I&#8217;m blessed with a highly competent team of leaders and managers who are eager to advise and train their teammates in the best way possible.

My day typically doesn't begin until I've drank my first cup of coffee. I know it’s a cliché and it's not even about the coffee, it’s more about my tradition of entering "the zone". After the much-needed caffeine ritual, I get down to business. Every morning starts with a gathering of my fellow analysts where we discuss the responsibilities for the day and come up with potential solutions. When everything is clear and I have an idea of the tasks to finish for the day, I start working on the data. Analyzing data consists of three main tasks: gathering the data, cleaning the data, and finally processing the data. The data processing part of the day is where I get to use my programming skills and is probably my favorite part of the day. 

You might think that after such an intense day, I would kick back and relax. However, my idea of de-stressing and relaxing comes in the form of sets and reps at the gym. Getting a workout in and pushing my body to the limits is the perfect way to end a day. And that pretty much sums up my day – coffee, work, and gym. It’s a simple life, but a happy one.

The funniest thing is that I never planned to be a data analyst. After my graduation in aeronautical engineering, I went to coaching for many competitive exams. That is when COVID-19 hit the world. The pandemic put a strain on my family, and the only way out was to find a job. So, I started researching and finding something I could learn online and build a career. That's when I learned about data analysis. I promptly enrolled in a data analysis course and got a job as a data analyst.  

The prospect of turning mountains of ones and zeroes which no one can even perceive yet understand into readable and usable information has got a certain addictive feeling. So, even though I graduated as an aeronautical engineer, data analytics is where I am supposed to be. So, I guess if there’s any lesson to take away from my story, it’s that fate has a funny way of putting you right where you belong. 

Mitsogo is my third company and I dare say, it’s the best one yet. I mean, every company I've been to has its strengths and weaknesses. It’s not always sunshine and rainbows. But what made Mitsogo the best for me is definitely the support I got here. I know every company likes to say that they are like a family but here I really do feel like it. Sometimes it’s almost impossible to get my colleagues from prying into my life. That might not sound appealing to some, but personally, I love it. Beyond the friends and family I've made here, the management makes sure that I've all the tools to work comfortably. The facilities offered here are truly the best. The assets are top notch and I'm blessed with a highly competent team of leaders and managers who are eager to advise and train their teammates in the best way possible.

From Bytes to Brilliance: Decoding the realm of Data Analysis

Spilling the beans about the awesome people I met at Mitsogo, who turned my solo gaming and anime binge-watching into a lively and unforgettable social experience. Ultimately, I celebrate the impact of passion, reminding us to live life with a crazy love for the things we enjoy most.

When I was in fourth grade, I got my first video game, Diablo 2. For a fifth grader like me, reality was being one among thousands of other kids in Bahrain, but inside the game, I was the hero of the mortal world, fighting demons and monsters. Role-playing games like that were my escape, transporting me from a boring reality into a fantasy world where anything was possible. The PlayStation 2 was my first gaming console. I used to power it up every chance I got, and it gave me some of my happiest childhood memories. Sadly, as the industry progressed, I required more powerful systems to play the latest titles, so I had to be content with viewing gameplay videos on YouTube.

The well-written characters, carefully thought-out worlds and vibrant animations were a delight to dive into. Although I initially kept to all the mainstream anime, I soon found myself completely engulfed in Japan’s beautiful art form. As all the anime I watched were adapted from Manga, I also started reading Manga. As I am writing my story today, I have finished more than 500 different anime shows and have read hundreds of Manga panels.     When I got into Mitsogo, I was ecstatic to have a job. It meant I could finally buy a good gaming computer and play my heart out. Mitsogo, on the other hand, provided me with much more than a job. I was fortunate enough to meet some incredible folks here that I will remember for the rest of my life. We forget to realize that even the things we love are better when we have people to share them with. It is no surprise that Gaming and Anime are entertaining for me, but both of them were so much more fun when I had like-minded people joining me in the fun. Having someone to complain about after a show ends in a cliffhanger or working together to solve a puzzle in a game are just a few of the things we do together.

Now, when I tell people that I used to be an introvert, they find it impossible to believe, and I owe that to the people of Mitsogo.     I believe that having a passion for something defines us as a person. It shapes us and our lives. There’s a quote about gamers, “Gamers don’t die; they respawn.” My passions have shown me that it’s okay to try and fail. It gave me the courage to strive forward no matter what the odds. After all, why are we here if not to live a life filled with an irrational passion for things?

The Greatest Escape

A product consultant serves as a link between the client and every division of the company. Although it is not an easy profession, the difference we create for our clients and our company more than makes up for any difficulties we may encounter. 

Product consultants provide customers with information and support related to products and services. They educate customers about product features and benefits, answer questions, assist with orders, and demonstrate product operation. This is what anyone who searches &#8216;What a product consultant does&#8217; on Google shall find. In reality, the job of a consultant requires much more creativity and finesse. As consultants, we are both the face of the company and the link between the customer and the rest of the company.

Although the developer of a feature, the engineer who fixes an issue, or the author of a blog are the actual creators, the customers do not interact with them. Whether it be a concern or feedback, they get it through to the required team via consultants. But while doing so, we must ensure that we do not end up spewing technical jargon at a customer with no technical background. That is where the true challenge of being a consultant lies—transforming ordinary words into something engaging, exciting, and interesting while simultaneously keeping it simple. However, that also requires testing and trying out everything about Hexnode and having a clear understanding of all its features. Even now, when a new feature is released, we&#8217;ll be the team that checks it out the most. Only once we understand the capabilities that a feature can provide will we be able to answer any customer query.  
The job of a Product Consultant was incredibly enticing for me. The prospect of communicating with people all over the world sounded fascinating. Even when I was just a rookie, I was given the opportunity to interact with people from all backgrounds and diversities. The chance to share my views and observations with the clients was a completely new experience that opened a whole new universe. I believe that words and ideas have the power to move people, and at Mitsogo, I get to show that every day. Even the training formula was different. My seniors and peers never held my hands and showed me the path to walk. Instead, they promoted self-learning. I had to work out a lot of stuff on my own, but if I ran into a snag, they were always there to assist me in getting past it. It was a refreshing change of pace from the monotonous learning approach practiced in schools and colleges all over the country.

As a bonus, the company retreats are always something to look forward to every year.  
As the day draws to a close, I always reflect on the day’s accomplishments. Being a product consultant is not an easy job, but it is worth it when you have the opportunity to make an impact, shaping industries and empowering clients. Tales from a Consultant’s Odyssey

As I transitioned to college and later joined Mitsogo, my love for football remained unwavering. To my delight, I discovered that Mitsogo fostered a vibrant and supportive work environment where football enthusiasts were celebrated.

It was through chance that I became interested in football. I was lounging in front of the TV on a peaceful afternoon, looking for something to watch. As I surfed through the channels, I found a sports channel with a football game going on. I wasn’t a fan back then, but since I had nothing better to do, I kept on watching. The match was between Manchester United (MU) and Tottenham (TOT), with TOT leading two to nothing at halftime. However, the red devils of MU had no plans to lose. The score at the end of the game was 5-2, with MU in the lead. That match from 2009 is my oldest experience of the game. Ever since that day, I&#8217;ve been enamored with both football and Manchester. Cheering on as Ronaldo and Rooney maneuvered their way to a winning shot and looking in awe as Ferguson led the team to win after win are memories I always cherish.

I wasn’t exceptionally good at playing football, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it. Every day after school, I rushed back home to play with my friends. When I reached home, dirty and exhausted, my mother would be waiting with a freshly cooked batch of samosas. Euphoria, for me, is eating a steaming samosa after a brilliant game of soccer. I wasn&#8217;t able to play as much in college, but my excitement for the game never waned. I never missed a Manchester United game. The only change was that my mother&#8217;s homemade samosas were substituted by store-bought ones. I resumed playing football again, but that was later when I started a new chapter of my life at Mitsogo. 
Mitsogo is nothing like I imagined. We don’t have corporate dress codes, so on match days, you can find people wearing their favorite team jerseys walking around the office. In fact, there are so many football fanatics here that our management decided to rent out a turf every day so that we could play. That’s where I started playing again. I still haven’t improved much, but the rush I get from the game is still as fresh as ever. Even our CEO is a fan and often joins us on the field. At Mitsogo, people follow the rule ‘work hard, play hard’. We are lucky to have a management team that recognizes that happy and satisfied employees are actually better at their jobs. In that regard, they make a significant effort to support our hobbies. In a couple of months, Mitsogo is even planning to host the first Hexnode football league.

Our hobbies and interests help shape us into who we are as individuals. Football taught me a great deal. It made me realize the importance of teamwork, discipline and time management. Also, being a Manchester United supporter, I’ve learned that failure is a part of life, but it shouldn’t bring us down. Manchester instilled in me the importance of persistence, and I’ve always tried to live up to that standard.

The Enchanting Madness of Football and Homemade Samosas

Every destination has its own rhythm, adding another track to the playlist of my unforgettable adventures. From the lively conversations of locals to the hushed whispers of awe-inspired travelers, every sound becomes a cherished note in the soundtrack of my extraordinary journey.  


Travelling is so much more than the act of seeing sights. It humbles some, heals others and for some of us, it completely changes our lives. I wasn&#8217;t always a massive fan of traveling. Back in my school days, I used to go on excursions and outings with my family and friends. However, that was more about spending time with my family rather than travelling. My love for travel began when my dad decided to take my mom and me to Thailand while I was in college. Mary Ann Radmacher once said, &#8220;I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.&#8221; The trip to Thailand changed me. It was the first time I realized how massive our world really is. It broadened my horizons and changed my entire outlook on life. When I returned back home, I decided that when I look back in 50 years, I want to remember the experiences I had rather than the money I earned. And thus began the journey.

Every new place I visit offers me the chance to do things I have never done before and enjoy the world&#8217;s mouthwatering cuisines. I could go on and on about the different palates of the world. Whether it was Singapore&#8217;s Hainanese chicken rice or Belgium&#8217;s Moules-Frites, each dish provided something special and constantly felt unique to someone who had only ever eaten Indian food. However, the most enjoyable aspect of every journey I have been on is the experience of meeting new people. It always amazes me how varied and yet similar the people of this world are. We have so many diverse traditions and cultures, but our fundamental natures remain the same, and I feel that is what binds us together. Through meeting so many unique individuals, I did things I never imagined I would do. These places and people gave me the courage to jump out of airplanes, swim with sharks, sit on crocodiles and take photos with tigers. Each of these experiences has given me invaluable life lessons and has helped me become the person I am today.

Now when I ask my managers for some time off to travel, more often than naught, they would join me. Most people love to travel, but people who really appreciate traveling are uncommon. Here at Mitsogo, I found a bunch of people exactly like that. Also, the hybrid work culture really helped. Being able to work from anywhere helped carry both my work and hobbies together. I work as a Creative Designer at Mitsogo, and the role requires a lot of out-of-the-box thinking to come up with promethean content. The journeys I take are a huge part of my creativity. The different experiences I have had inspire me to create unique and innovative content. My seniors at Mitsogo understand this and provide me with the freedom to do so. When I pen this piece, I’ve visited 15 countries all around the world. Yet still, I haven&#8217;t scratched the surface of what&#8217;s out there. So, to anyone reading my story, if I could give you just one piece of advice, it would be to travel as much as you can, as far as you can and as long as you can. Life is brief, and the world is wide.

Travelling is so much more than the act of seeing sights. It humbles some, heals others and for some of us, it completely changes our lives. I wasn't always a massive fan of traveling. Back in my school days, I used to go on excursions and outings with my family and friends. However, that was more about spending time with my family rather than travelling. My love for travel began when my dad decided to take my mom and me to Thailand while I was in college. Mary Ann Radmacher once said, "I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world." The trip to Thailand changed me. It was the first time I realized how massive our world really is. It broadened my horizons and changed my entire outlook on life. When I returned back home, I decided that when I look back in 50 years, I want to remember the experiences I had rather than the money I earned. And thus began the journey.

Filling the Pages of My Passport

I embarked on a journey as a SCRUM Master, fostering seamless collaboration and optimizing project outcomes. Guiding teams with finesse and passion, I strive to create an environment where success thrives through teamwork and agile practices.

My first experience with Agile was at my first job. I was a fresh developer transitioning to product coordination. It is sometimes necessary for us to look to our fellow men and women for support and guidance. For me, it was one of my mentors who showed me this new path and directed me to Agile. I was surprised because, unbeknownst to me, I was also following the threads of an Agile methodology. Agile and its frameworks have completely transformed the way software industries work. The techniques created such a reputation for improving success rates that they started growing out to every other department.  
The switch to the role of a SCRUM master was not easy. I had to start from scratch, and Mitsogo provided me with the right opportunity. So, I did the work, put in the effort, and joined Mitsogo as their SCRUM master. A regular day would often start and end with a work update from the team. In between, I would have to conduct agile meetings and check the day-to-day work progress. Unfortunately, these are the easy parts of my day.

Discovering My Passion: How joining a music club in college transformed my life and led me to a fulfilling career as a Brand Strategist, embracing the journey of personal growth and finding support every step of the way.

We have all heard stories where the main character has no direction whatsoever and is suddenly steered to a particular path by a person or event and end up realizing their true potential. I had a similar start too. Like all other teenagers, I was also going with the flow, not really caring about where I would end up. I signed up for the music club in our college upon the insistence of my friends. But that incident changed my outlook towards life overnight. My priorities shifted, and I found something I was passionate about, a beat my heart wanted to follow.  
Then came the campus placements accompanied by a wave of hustles and uncertainties. I was terrified at the thought of having to choose between a regular 9 &#8211; 6 job and exploring my newfound passion. Finding my Beat

As a system administrator at Mitsogo, my days are always unpredictable and filled with challenges. Whether it's troubleshooting tech issues or architecting new environments, I love the rewarding feeling of making things work and having a supportive team by my side.

If you are like most sysadmins, your day starts early and ends late. It is a constant hustle of fighting fires and fixing obstacles. At the same time, it is quite hard to put into words a typical day in my life. Because, each day in the life of a system admin is quite different. I am pretty sure that my parents still don’t understand what I do for a living. Here at Mitsogo, I oversee a team of young admins looking to put their marks on our world. I am in charge of monitoring system performance and also configuring and maintaining any new hardware or software. As admins in charge of each and every device and application deployed throughout the company, we are where employees turn to, when they are in a pickle. Our day can be as breezy as resetting a forgotten password or as chaotic as a total network failure inside the company. As such, anyone looking to be successful in this role should have excellent troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with various operating systems.

A typical day in my work life starts with addressing the queries raised and assigning them to myself or my teammates depending on the level of complexity. Apart from regular troubleshoots, things really get interesting when the company deploys new hardware or software. That’s where the real challenge lies, but that is also what I love most about this job. It is very rewarding to architect new environments and implement my designs and finally see them perform efficiently. If anyone who is reading this wants to be a system admin, one piece of advice I would give you is that always be prepared. You will never know what hand you’ll be dealt each day and the only countermeasure is to be prepared for every possibility. I know it’s easier said than done, but this is a field which greatly rewards preparation. Remember that.

Coming to life at Mitsogo, we have a really great team of admins always ready and up for any challenge. Every admin knows that no matter how good you are, you can’t manage a whole company without reliable friends at your back. We are even good friends outside of work too. One of our admins brings in his grill and does cookouts every few weeks. Mitsogo rents us a football turf where we play almost every weekend. However, the biggest pro about Mitsogo is that the management actually listens to admins and that makes a huge difference. All in all, I love my job, and I have no idea what I’ll be doing tomorrow. That’s pretty exciting if you ask me.

Every admin knows that no matter how good you are, you can’t manage a whole company without reliable friends at your back. We are even good friends outside of work too. One of our admins brings in his grill and does cookouts every few weeks. Mitsogo rents us a football turf where we play almost every weekend. However, the biggest pro about Mitsogo is that the management actually listens to admins and that makes a huge difference. All in all, I love my job, and I have no idea what I’ll be doing tomorrow. That’s pretty exciting if you ask me.

In the pursuit of self-discovery, I found my identity intertwined with two passions: cars and video games. From my early exposure to computer hardware through my dad's enthusiasm to the immersive world of Need for Speed's Underground series, these interests have shaped my journey.

Carol Shelby once said that there is a point at 7000 rpm when everything fades and the only question that matters is “who are you.” Who I am can be described in two words – cars and videogames. My dad was a computer enthusiast, and he always made sure he had the latest hardware for his computer. GPUs, graphics cards, motherboards, you name it. The first video game I ever played was Dave. However, the game that will forever have a place in my heart is Need for Speed’s Underground series. These games allowed me to experience my other passion (albeit in a virtual world) &#8211; driving and modifying cars, especially the cars from the JDM era.

Elephants, known for their wisdom and ability to overcome obstacles, have always held a special place in my heart since childhood. Seeing that little elephant on my desk felt like a sign from the universe that Mitsogo was where I belonged.

On my first day at Mitsogo, I was really nervous. However, as I walked over to my desk for the first time, on my desk was a stuffed elephant with the Hexnode logo. I still remember grinning as I held that cute little elephant for the first time. I had no idea what the work culture was like at the time, but I took it as a sign from the universe that I would fit in here. Here is why.

In Hindu mythology, the elephant symbolizes wisdom, understanding and the epitome of removing obstacles in life and pushing through. My love for these majestic creatures could have stemmed from these stories, or it could be due to the simple fact that they are the largest land animals alive. The truth is it doesn&#8217;t matter. I&#8217;ve had an unfathomable admiration for them ever since I was a child. During my younger years, elephants were a common sight near the temple neighboring my ancestorial home. Even in my college days, I would often visit ancient temples in Kerala where proud elephants would come for festivals and feasts. The more I got closer to them, the more I understood how human these animals are. Just like us, each one of them is unique. Long story short, seeing that little stuffed elephant on my table gave me hope.
Many people don&#8217;t know that these giants are ecosystem engineers shaping the very earth they live in. Quoting the Jungle Book, &#8220;The elephants created this jungle. Where they&#8217;ve made furrows with their tusks, the rivers ran. Where they blew with their trunks, the leaves fell. They made all that belongs.&#8221;

The Journey From Elephants to Elephant-Sized Data

During the Covid lockdown, I embraced the chance to explore my passion for graphic design after years of pursuing engineering. Now, as a UI/UX designer at Mitsogo, I am fortunate to collaborate with a team of talented artists who mentor and inspire me.

When the world was on lockdown, and we were all confined to our homes, I found myself with more time than I knew what to do with. Like so many of us, I initially wasted it binge-watching Netflix and playing Fortnite. However, I soon realized that I was given a unique opportunity to finally follow the career I wanted for myself – graphic designing. I have always enjoyed designing and showing people my work. Even as a student, I used to design posters for events in both my school and college. Yet still, like so many of us, I took a degree in engineering after high school, with nary an idea of what I would do with it. So, when the world went into lockdown, I took that chance to really learn to design. I took many online courses and certifications, and by the time the lockdown got lifted, I had a pretty solid idea of designing.

My efforts paid off when I got a job as the UI/UX designer at Mitsogo. When I applied for the job, they asked me why an engineering graduate wanted a job in designing. As they saw my passion for it, they immediately offered me the role. Books and courses can only teach you so much. It often falls short in the light of real-life experience. At Mitsogo, I am lucky to be mentored by a team of exceptional artists. My day usually starts with a good cup of joe. From there, I browse through a few websites which keep me updated on the latest trends and give me inspiration for new ideas. This is my morning routine, which I never break. Then, I start working. When you are part of the design team, you are a part of every other team in the company. Apart from UI designing, everyone from human resources to public relations sends us content to make posters, videos and infographics. We even collaborate in designing company merch. My favorite part of the job is presenting my work. An artist is always glad to hear that his work is appreciated. That is not to say that I don’t receive any criticism. However, my seniors and managers have always taken a constructive approach when I make mistakes, and that has made all the difference. A day in the life of a designer is often hectic and filled with deadlines. Fortunately, as someone wise once said, if you love what you do, you will never work a single day in your life.
